You know that patterned paper?

Hi everyone...today I want to talk about those papers we just *love* but sometimes get stuck on how to use them.

Typically, these are the papers with the detail around the corners and a whole lotta white space in between. If you're anything like me, those are the sheets I reach for first when shopping, although when I get home, I usually get a bit stumped on how to actually use them.

Upsy Daisy Designs has a perfect example in the "A New Day" line. Here's "Hope":

Beautiful, right?

One way is to cut out little pieces from the corners that you can use later. Cover up the cut-out bits and keep going with your page construction as you normally would.

When you reach the embellishing, which I keep for the end, play around with the cut-out pieces and see what looks best on your page.

*Don't feel bad about changing the original pattern of the paper. Remember, it's yours for the interpretation.

This is what I ended up with:

I used the sheet "Inspire" (both sides) to finish off this page.

Note how I cut out just the little red flowers and then placed them on the almost-completed page, in spots that best suited my design, and made them a bit more dimensional with pop-dotted buttons and bit of twine.

Okay, that's it from me for today.
Enjoy your week, and what's left of summer :)
