Monthly Sketch - December 2010

But I digress - it is time to say good-bye to a long standing friend of ours: the monthly sketch.
We have all enjoyed to play along to the sketches and I hope you got some inspiration out of them, but it is time for something new.

With that being said, we hope that you all play along with us this month and celebrate our ultimate sketch in style.

OF BRADS AND BRAD HOLDERS

Hello everyone!!!! This is JANIS blogging once again for Upsy Daisy!!!! Today I'm going to showcase two projects which use Upsy Daisy Brads!!!

BOYS WILL BE BOYS

I got to play with Avalanche papers for the November Monthly Sketch which you can see here. While I "borrowed" #MT2-015. Tyler from the Man About Town II Collection (for the circle cut-outs), this is really an Avalanche number!

UDD Products Used:
Papers:
Avalanche: #AVA011. Adrenaline, #AVA012. Extreme, #AVA013. Grind, #AVA014. Powder, #AVA015. Summit, #AVA016. Wipeout, Man About Town II: #MT2-015. Tyler, Brads: #BRD313. Vogue, #EMB007. Walk in the Park, Ribbons: #RIB403. Vogue Ribbon, Rub-Ons: #UDD194. Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Clear Stamps: #UDD208. Chic Bebe, #UDD210. My Guy, #UDD209. Girl friends.

Some close-ups for you: For my title, I used the "Boys will be boys" caption found in the #UDD194. Planes, Trains and Automobiles Rub-ons.

For this one, I rubbed my letters on my #AVA016. Wipeout paper first before I cut them out and adhered them on my square #BRD313. Vogue brads. I topped them with Ranger Industries' Glossy Accents for a glossy finish.

ALTERED BRAD HOLDERS

For my second project, I altered the Upsy Daisy brad holders as candy holders. My kids love these candy-coated chocolates, more so with this type of packaging!!! I used here papers from the See You Later Alligator Collection ( with the orange #UDD173. Sophie Love paper "borrowed" from the Circle of Friends Line).

UDD Products Used:
Papers: See You Later Alligator:
#SYLA012. Alphabet Soup, #SYLA013. Everglades, #SYLA004. Expedition, #SYLA015. Gators, #SYLA016. Marsh, Circle of Friends: #UDD173. Sophie Love, Brads: #EMB007. Walk in the Park, Ribbons: #RIB403. Vogue Ribbon, Clear Stamps: #UDD208. Chic Bebe, Other: UDD Brad Holders.

Monthly Sketch - October 2010

Happy Fall ya'll :)

Are you all excited about Halloween already? In the UK we don't really celebrate it as much as our friends in the U.S. and Canada but that doesn't stop me from getting antsy about it and enjoy all the wonderful blog posts and pictures popping up everywhere across the net, showing fabulous Halloween projects and costumes.

During October, we would like to show you a few Halloween projects on the {{ Daisy Diaries }} and prove that you do not have to buy Halloween themed papers to go for the "boo" or "cute pumpkin" factor. But first off, let me show you this months' sketch, which I used to create a layout totally unrelated to Halloween....

** click on any of the images to enlarge their view **

More often than not, when I look at a sketch my layout will turn out completely different to the blueprint. Mainly because I pick one element off the sketch and put my own twist on it. In this instance, I took my inspiration from the layered circles - only on my layout they are
layered flowers :).

UDD Products used: #HSH011. Alma, #HSH012. Beach, #HSH015. Midland Ave (all from the Home Sweet Home Line) ** #VO012. Chic (from the Vogue Line)

JANIS used the wonderful BLOSSOM collection for her wonderful layout. Adorable how she incorporated the two different sizes doilies to emphasise the girly factor.
UDD Products used:
Papers - #BLO016. Spring is in the Air, #BLO013. Orchard, #BLO011. Awakening ** Brads - #BRD311. Blossom

TRACEY made wonderful use of her favourite, the VOGUE line and created this stunning masterpiece. I adore how she used the lovely crochet ribbon.
UDD Products used:
Papers - #VO013. Diva, #VO016. Strike a Pose, #VO012. Chic, #VO015. Runway, #VO011. Catwalk ** Ribbon - #RIB403. Vogue Ribbon ** Stamps - #UDD209. Girl friends

SANDI used the HOME SWEET HOME line to create this fun layout about last years corn maze. Isn't it great how she included some bits of corn and also the maze print?
UDD Products used:
Papers - #HSH011. Alma, #HSH012. Beach, #HSH014. Maddison St ** Brads - #BRD312. See You Later Alligator, #BRD311. Blossom ** Ribbons - #RIB403. Vogue Ribbon ** Stamps - #UDD0110. Make A Bloom

GRACE made use of one of our all-time favourite paper lines CIRCLE OF FRIENDS. I love how she used the fabric covered brads as the "cherry on top" of the ice cream cones.

UDD products used:
Papers -
#UDD0172. Princess Abbie, #UDD173. Sophie Love, #UDD0171. Miss Brin, #UDD0170. Lily Lou ** Brads - #EMB006. New Day ** Rub Ons - #UDD0082. Oodles of Doodles - Alphas

We would love to see how you use our sketch for inspiration, so please link us up in the comments section if you are playing along with us this month. We look forward to see what you create.

Monthly Sketch - September 2010

Good morning and welcome to September!
Time sure flies and after a somewhat very unpredictable summer here in the U.K. we can almost touch Autumn....
One of Upsy Daisy's new paperlines HOME SWEET HOME is perfect for the approaching new season and hopefully our monthly sketch will provide you with some additional inspiration on how to use your favourite Upsy Daisy Designs products.

** click on any of the images within the post to enlarger their view **

Our DT Members could choose which of the two new lines they would like to use for the above sketch and I decided to stick with my Autumn mood and grabbed the HOME SWEET HOME collection.

How amazing is this layout by  JANIS? I love the depth she achieved by layering the wonderful papers from our BLOSSOM line

Papers: #BLO011. Awakening, #BLO014. Precious, #BLO012. Freshly Picked, #BLO016. Spring is in the Air, #BLO015. Spring Breeze

GRACE created this fantastic layout, using AVALANCHE, and made the sketch work for her by using straight lines for her frames, perfect!

Papers: #AVA013. Grind, #AVA014. Powder, #AVA015. Summit

TRACEY made a wonderful set of cards  using HOME SWEET HOME. Isn't it fantastic how she hand cut some of the patterns from the #Alma sheet to make them pop as stand alone elements? Simply gorgeous!

Papers: #HSH013. Cedar Cres, #HSH011. Alma

How fabulous is this layout created by SANDI? Using AVALANCHE, I love how Sandi stuck to the blueprint of the sketch and also added those adorable tags.
