APRIL PRODUCT SHOWCASE

Hello everyone!!! This is Janis blogging again for Upsy Daisy. The gals this month has spring in mind, so I thought of showcasing UDD's Luscious Leaves Clear Stamps.

These stamps can be used not only as leaves but also as flowers!!! Check out my first layout below:

UDD Products Used: Papers: #UD0164. Caresse, #UDD0168. Ella Bella, #UDD0170. Lily Lou, #UDD0172. Princess Abbie, #UDD0137. Scrumptious, #UDD0135. Sprinkles, #UDD0134. Delicious, #UDD0130. Stillness, #UDD0131. Harmony, #BLO011. Awakening, #BLO012. Freshly Picked, #WP014. Magnificent, Clear Stamps: #UDD0106. Floral Flourishes, #UDD0109. Luscious Leaves, #UDD0108. Lovely Lines, Brads: #EMB006. New Day.

Stamped my leaves (used 2 different ink colors) and topped with Stickles for added glitter!!!

I love how my flowers turned out!!! I just stamped and cut out the images and formed it in a circle flower. Easy peasy. ;o)

Here's my second layout: If you think that my flowers look familiar, it's because they're actually recycled out of the altered brad holders that you can see HERE.

UDD Products Used: Papers: #BLO011. Awakening, #BLO012. Freshly Picked, #BLO016. Spring is in the Air, #BLO015. Spring Breeze, #UDD0171. Miss Brin, #UDD173. Sophie Love, Stamps: #UDD0109. Luscious Leaves, Brads: #EMB007. Walk in the Park.

I think I have trained my kids not to cause major damage on the packaging of treat holders that I give them!!! LOL!!!

More leaves - - I say these clear stamps are must-haves!!!!

Have fun creating!!! Thanks for looking everyone!!!

janis

P.S. I rarely mix and match collections as most of the time, I want to showcase what can be done with that line - - but in these layouts, I had a blast mixing a lot of papers from different lines!!! This just shows how versatile UDD papers are!!!

Colour Me Happy

As you may have noticed, during October we have been focusing on the wonderful CUPCAKE and BEBE  lines.

I find myself sometimes being subconsciously steered into a set theme for my cards and layouts because of the name for a certain paperline...and sometimes that may prevent me from seeing the true potential a paper design has.

Take for example the BeBe line - you would automatically think Newborns, Babies, Children - right? And the first thing I created was indeed a little gift card holder for a new baby.

UDD Products used:
#UDD0163. Belle / Beau, #UDD185. Baby Love, #EMB007. Walk in the Park

But you have so many more options of using these papers, thanks to their very subtle and soft designs. For this picture of my nephew (who loves to paint), I thought the "boy" side of the BeBe paper line to be perfect. The green and blue compliment the colours in the picture.

UDD Products used:
#UDD0163. Belle / Beau;  #UDD0165. Layette;  #UDD0130. Stillness; #UDD187. Man About Town; #UDD185. Baby Love; #UDD0004. Doodle Bet

I leave you with a card I created with different papers and rub ons from the CUPCAKE line - again, the papers invite you to create something for a birthday but you can do so much more!

UDD Products used:
#UDD0137. Scrumptious; #UDD0136. Sweet; #UDD0133. Delectable; #MT2-011. Carter; #UDD190. Sweet Celebrations

Last but by no means least: Don't forget our FACEBOOK page, we are still having product giveaways going on!

New Bebe on the Block

I have several friends who have delivered gorgeous new babies in the past few weeks - so what better way to celebrate their arrival than scrapping a few projects?
The "older siblings" of these new babes should not be left out either - say hello to Olly who turned two the same week his little sister arrived...

Isn't he adorable? I just want to pinch his cheeks and squueze him all day long :)
For Olly's page I used the Boy side of the Bebe range of Upsy Daisy papers - cool baby blues and greens with some soft brown inking to give it depth.

My next Lo was loooooong overdue - my little Hannah's third birthday came and went in a flash and I have only just got the chance to scrap it. Doesn't life just flash by in the blink of an eye, sometimes?

Hannah is the original "girly girl" - you can't have enough pink, enough bling, enough sparkle, enough fairies and - in the case of her birthday - enough cupcakes, LOL.

The Upsy Daisy "Cupcake" paper range was perfect for the job:
Such gorgeous colours call for a happy, summery layout.
There are a couple of Tips you could take from either of these LO's to use with your Upsy Daisy papers:

* Crop your photo tightly around the face of your subject so that you make a real feature of their gorgeous eyes (and dimples!).

* Use Die Cut Lace cardstock upside down - that is, with the white showing rather than the right side. It makes for a delicate break-up of the background without being too "lacey" or "girly".

* Break up your page with a couple of journaling spots layered one over the other - it gives the impression of the page being more "full" without overloading it.

* Use your scallop punch to create strips of cardstock, then mount these on top of each other to create a "Cake" embellishment.

* Use the little cupcakes that are printed on the strip at the bottom of the Upsy Daisy papers - they are super cute embellishments!

* Use a template to mark a circle around your LO, then adhere double sided tape all around it. Place one end of a length of ribbon at the beginning of the circle and gently "pleat" it at one inch intervals. It takes a bit of time to perfect, but it's worth it - trust me!

Well, that's all from me for now - I hope there is something in there that helps you want to dive into the scrapping supplies. For me, it's going to be a busy few days and we are having enormous dust storms over here in Australia, so we are all trapped inside until they pass. Oh well, more time for scrapping!
Take care all,
Sares x

It's a Pink Pink World

So, you may have noticed that this month our Designers highlighted Dads and all things masculine.
You may have also noticed that they showed you various ways to incorporate "pink" into your predominantly "male" layouts and projects.

For my page, I went pink as well, and in addition I also used a lacy border punch to edge the Upsy Daisy papers.
The papers are from the "Bebe'" line, and I used the "Inspire, Dream, Create" rub-ons from upsy Daisy as well.

I used a dark, solid coloured cardstock as a base, so while the papers, colours and border appears traditionally feminine, the dark cardstock lends it the masculine effect which grounds the entire page.

So, if you've been inspired by our creations and have a pinky male LO to share with us, please link us to your creations right here...:)

Have a wonderful week everyone!

These Brads make me HAPPY!

Hello everyone!

I do hope you all enjoyed this past Easter weekend with your families...and for those of you that do not celebrate Easter...I hope you found this past weekend just as JOYFUL too! :)

I am LOVING the new brad's...the shapes are so fun to work with and do some really creative things with.

I've been out of town for the past few weeks...so I haven't had as much time as I would like to to play...but I did manage to squeeze a card out to show you how ADORABLE these brads are. :)

and here are some details. I also used the "Thinking of you" stamp under the ribbon.

Have a wonderful and blessed Monday! xoxo :)

Cards for all occasions!

I've got some new cards to share with you today using several of the new lines. The versatility of the bebe line is perfect for making both boy and girl baby cards while Circle of Friends is great for honoring that special friend in your life. I've been using the Unwritten line for both wedding and sympathy cards. This line is classic and elegant and works well for celebrating a marriage and mourning the loss of a loved one.

TIP: I used a fine-tip scissors to cut the cluster of flowers from the patterned paper on the "Happily Ever After" card.

Happy card-making! :)

ATC's

ATC are so fun to make and a great way to use up scraps. I love to make them an add them to a card! The standard ATC size is 2 1/2 X 3 1/2.

They also make perfect little cards on their own to give away. I gave the "love" one to my DH for Valenhearts Day :)

Monday, January 19, 2009

Good Monday Morning everyone!! Kathy posting today amongst the CHA sneak peeks - isn't the new stuff wonderful!!

You know, with the 'big' holidays behind us, Valentine's Day is just a few short weeks away! I love using non traditional papers for traditional things. Here I used the Unwritten (I think it's my favourite, so classic and versatile!), Bebe and even Hot Chocolate collections to make a few simple Valentine's cards! Once I pick up a bit of chocolate, I'll be all set for hugs and kisses day!

Have a great Monday!
