I love mixing and matching paperlines and Upsy Daisy Designs products are perfect to mix up! For this layout I have taken papers from both of the new Christmas Lines Spirit and Hot Chocolate . See how wonderful these lines mix? And you don't even have to use them for festive layouts - they are perfect for any occasion.

I would also like to share a little Christmas Ornament with you - these paperballs have appeared across the web a lot lately and I love just how easy these are to make. They would be fantastic as a little gift, you could fill them with candy or small toys.
All you need are a few strips of paper, a hole punch, two brads and whichever additional embellishments take your fancy.

For my example I have cut a 12 x 12 sheet of double sided paper from the >>Spirit<< line into eight strips of 1,5" width. I found them too long, which would make the ball quite large, therefore I decided to cut them down to a length of 6" each.

When using double-sided paper, make sure that you alternate the patterns for a more interesting look. Stack each of your strips on top of each other and punch a hole at the top and the bottom end of each strip. While they are still stacked on top of each other, secure the ends by attaching a brad through the top and one through the bottom hole. All you need to do now is to fan the strips out and your ball is good an ready. Isn't that just the cutest little gift to do? And it did not take me longer than 5 Minutes to cut, punch and fan the ball. It took much longer to stamp and ink the gift tag, which was attached to the top brad.

Hot Chocolate

I love the colors of the new Hot Chocolate line. The colors are nontraditional and that's what instantly attracted me to this line. The pink, the brown and the bright green are a perfect combination of colors for holiday paper. Upsy Daisy Designs is thrilled to announce the new design team members as well as a selection of guest designers. There were so many amazing applications and it was hard to choose! We thank everyone that took the time to apply. A big welcome goes out to our new DT members!

Try a new shape!

I love making cards but sometimes get stuck in a rut with rectangle and square cards. Next time you make a card, try creating it with a fun shape! For this card, I used the Vroom line and drew out my party hat by hand. If you don't want to try hand-drawing try using one of the many diecut machines available to make your shape. I love the colors in the Vroom line - perfect for guys of all ages!

NEW RELEASES FOR UDD!!!

Here is the second of the newly released lines. This is Spirit. It is a beautiful, traditionally elegant line for all your holiday memories! Enjoy and please post your projects made using the new lines. We would love to see them!

Attention Everyone!!! Let's get those Holiday projects started! Here is the first of two new seasonal lines for UDD. Hot Chocolate is a fun playful line which we hope will bring some color to your projects! Happy Creating!

All Dressed Up!

I'm so excited to share how to make these little dress cards!


First you'll need the template...which can be found here.


Next, you'll need to fold a piece of cardstock in half and trace the dress, making sure to leave the top of the dress or the "shoulders" on the crease to keep the card as one piece.


Now you'll need to trace your dress out of your favorite Upsy Daisy paper :)


Finally, attach the dress to the front of your card, add a cute belt, a little collar, and your sentiment!
