Happy new year !

Hello :)

my English is not enough rich of words to wish you all that i want to wish you for this new year !
and i hope that you will be happy to spend this new year with us, a good year for Upsy Daisy Designs i am sure ! because when you look at the new collections, they are so wow !! i love it !

So let's begin this year with two pages.
the first one, talk about love, and when i look at my daughter Melany, i see Love :

What's new?

Hi there! I hope you all had a very special holiday. I couldn't wait to start creating with some of the new lines. I immediately grabbed Man About Town when I took this photo of my son on his 13th birthday. I love how this line is so versatile and the color combo is one of my favorites.




I hope all of you have a very happy and safe new year.

The Big Guy is nearly here!

Only two more sleeps until Santa makes his way from the North Pole to spread a little cheer :)

I don't know about your families, but my kids are so excited that every time they hear a siren outside they shout, "It's Santa!" LOL. Getting a tad ahead of themselves, I think.

So here at Upsy Daisy we hope that everyone of our lovely supporters has a wonderful Christmas and a safe and very happy New Year!

In order to celebrate the occasion, I have put together a little tutorial for you to have a play with in case you get some time to scrap over the holidays.

Here it is:

How to make a Flower Garden using Upsy Daisy Papers and your Punches:

Step One:

Cut a 1.5inch x 10inch strip of paper. Use your scissors to cut small snips into the piece of paper NOT all the way to the bottom.

Step Two:

Once you have snipped all the way along the paper, come back to the start and start snipping at odd angles in order to chop the little bits of paper into odd/uneven shapes.

Step Three:

At the end of this process, your "grass" should look like this:

Step Four:
Using a large circle punch (I have used the Whale of a Punch 2 inch), punch out two large circles from your other UD paper.

Now punch out some smaller circles, as well as some scalloped shapes using a Marvy scallop oval

punch. You'll need a few from two or three different colours.

Step Five:
Gently ink the outsides of the scalloped ovals and then cut them in half with a pair of scissors.

Step Six:

Now put your large circles facing down on your desk and cover the back with some tape or glue. Using the scalloped ovals that have been cut in half, place them in even spaces around the outside of the circle with the right sides also facing down.

Step Seven:

Your finished flower should look like this:

Now all you have to do is bend the petals of the flowers in a bit and raise the flower off the surface of your page in order to give it depth and dimension.

Here is another way to use your punches to great effect - this time I used the Whale of a Punch Butterfly on my Upsy Daisy papers so that I could show off both sides of the papers!

Holiday projects

I have a couple new projects to show you using the Spirit and Hot Chocolate lines. The first is a "Happy Holidays" card that showcases the Spirit line. At the top, I punched out a circle and then punched a circle out of that to give it the look of a Christmas ornament.

The second project is a holiday planning book using the Hot Chocolate line. I created tabs in the book to list my gifts, cards, baking and holiday parties. I painted my snowflake chipboard and added some Martha Stewart glitter. Here's a fun tip - to keep glitter from getting everywhere, just finish it off with a coat of Diamond Glaze.

Four New Lines for UDD!!

We are pleased to announce the release of four new lines! We will be taking these to CHA in January but we didn't want to keep them hidden until then. So now you can start the new year with some fresh new papers! Enjoy.

Trio of Praise

Here are three super easy cards to create from one sheet of pattern paper. I used "Cocoa" from the Upsy Daisy "Hot Chocolate" line.

Supplies:

1 Sheet Pattern Paper

Cardstock for card base

rub-ons

Instructions:

1. From your Upsy Daisy Cocoa paper cut 6 rectanges with the following measurements...

3 - 4 X 5 1/2

3 - 3 3/4 X 5 1/4

2. Centre and attach your 3 3/4 X 5 1/4 rectanges to your 4 X 5 1/2 rectanges. Hand or machine sew your edges if desired.

3. Apply your rub-on sentiments to scraps of your "Cocoa" paper (the pink backside is perfect for this!) Attach these to your created card front.

4. To make your card base trim your cardstock to 5 1/2 X 8 inches and fold in half. Attach your created card front to your card base.

Here is Michele and, well, as you may know, english is not my first language, so i hope you will understand what i am trying to tell you !lol ! and i hope you will pardon me my mistakes ...

let's begin by a page using the "Hot chocolate" collection ,marvelous colors ! and what i love with this papers, it's that it's very easy to use it for another theme that Christmas .
This page talk about my biggest defect: being anxious, being afraid about everything ...

yes i love making this flowers , so i thought it would be a great idea to use it for making Christmas Ornament together !

Bend the ribbon like this :

then staple a circle of cardstock on :


distress the edge of the circles and run it in bowl, and glue it together.

put an eyelet on a circle of cardstock

staple it and tie the rope:

add embellishment or words and some glitter :


and voilà :)


an easy way to make Christmas ornament :) i think i will make it again ;)
